My name is Star Underscore (Michael Hunt), a Texas resident and software developer working on a new concept for preserving human competency as artificial intelligence increasingly transforms the workforce.
One of the major risks of large-scale AI automation is skills atrophy. When workers transition away from practicing certain tasks, the muscle memory and procedural knowledge associated with those skills begin to disappear. Over time, this can weaken the nation's long-term competency in critical fields.
To address this, I have been developing a concept that uses Markdown-based typing exercises to store and rehearse muscle memory skills. The idea is simple but powerful:
- Skills are recorded as structured typing sequences
- These sequences can be practiced periodically to maintain procedural memory
- The system acts as a long-term competency archive

I believe systems like this could play an important role in protecting America's workforce capabilities during the transition to AI-augmented labor.
